Stephen brings more than three decades in the insurance industry to his role as Chief Financial Officer of Prospera, where he leads financial strategy, reporting, and capital planning as the company scales its market-based settlement platform.

Before Prospera, Stephen was CFO at Amherst for two years. Prior to that, he served as CFO for Berkley Oil & Gas, a subsidiary of WR Berkley. He spent 15 years as CFO at Tokio Marine HCC, where he oversaw financial reporting and reinsurance operations across six insurance companies. Stephen began his career as an accountant at American Indemnity Financial Corp in Galveston, Texas.

Stephen holds a BS from the University of Texas at Austin and an accounting degree from the University of Houston. He earned his CPA certification in 1993.
